Best Birdwatching Beaches

Bird Island in the Seychelles
Far off the coast of Africa, in the Seychelles Islands,
is a fabulous bird watching beach destination
that will be appreciated by experts and novices alike.
Tiny Bird Island is one of the Seychelles Islands,
and it is the home a sea bird colony and sea bird research station.
From May to October the Sooty Term Project
is in progress and from September to February
Hawksbill Turtles come up on the sand in the
daytime to lay their eggs.
You can visit the sea bird colony
(as long as you follow special guidelines and restrictions),
and there is a wonderful
20-cottage lodge halfway between the Bird Island Airstrip
and the bird colony. Flying time from Mahe
is about 30 minutes and flights are limited
to guests of Bird Island Lodge.
